Management at UK businesses could be forgiven for wondering whether the constant stream of new employment legislation will ever end. In recent years they have had to cope with a raft of changes covering such diverse areas as working time, data protection and fixed-term working.
Unfortunately, it is clear that there will be little, if any, respite in the years to come. During the next 12 months, a wide range of legislation will be introduced including the Employment Act 2002 with its so-called ‘family-friendly’ provisions.
