Clifford Chance (CC) and Slaughter and May are fighting to save ailing power giant British Energy in time for the Valentine’s Day deadline set as part of the Government’s rescue package.

CC, led by corporate partners Daniel Kossoff and Mark Poulton and supported by Victoria Wakefield, advised long-standing client British Energy on the £308m disposal of its 82% stake in Canadian energy company Bruce Power, a deal that is awaiting shareholder approval.
