Linklaters has closed a £192m Greek M&A deal for Vodafone Group in the same week that its client failed to take control of France’s second-largest telecoms company, Cegetel.

Vodafone International Holdings, the Dutch subsidiary of UK-based mobile telecoms giant Vodafone, acquired France Telecom’s 10.85% share of Vodafone-Panafon Hellenic Telecommunications Company, a Greek telco that sells mobile airtime and has a chain of retail outlets, giving Vodafone a stronger hold on the Greek market.
