The entire magic circle has rejected persistent claims that newly qualified salaries are to be cut to £45,000 next year – signalling a widespread commitment to leave the current £50,000 benchmark unchanged in 2003.
Enquiries by Legal Week have found general consensus that salary rates will be maintained at current levels in 2003 at top UK firms – although the rates will not be formally set until the spring.
