The collapse of Enron is threatening many of the world’s top law firms with breach of confidentiality claims after 45 firms were ordered to hand over thousands of documents related to the US company’s controversial bankruptcy.
The New York bankruptcy court handling Enron has demanded documents from the firms including leading US advisers Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, Shearman & Sterling and the entire ‘magic circle’ of top London firms.
