private practice is pushing down salary levels for mid-level company lawyers.

A major survey of in-house pay by Legal Week‘s sister title Legal Director shows that 83% of legal heads are satisfied with their remuneration compared with 77% a year ago. At the same time, 15% said they were dissatisfied, down from 23% in 2001.
