Legal Week’s 20 June article reporting that mediation is on the wane is, in my view, all wrong.
Mediation is booming! While the statistics for the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (Cedr) may show a drop in the number of mediations last year and the statistics for ADR Group may have been flat for the same period, no-one has factored in the mediations conducted by the Panel of Independent Mediators (at least 250) or ADR Chambers or ACI or goodness knows who else is providing mediation services.
