Chicago’s Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal is to take over the New York firm RubinBaum from 1 June, adding more than 50 lawyers to the firm’s current New York practice.

The deal will give Sonnenscheins’ a total of 135 lawyers in New York and 600 fee earners firm-wide. The firm has tripled its New York presence in two years, including last year hiring a six-lawyer bankruptcy practice from local firm Pryor Cashman Sherman & Flynn.
