Private practice lawyers are facing confrontation with their in-house counterparts over moves to relax the conflict of interest rules governing the legal profession, senior legal heads have warned.
Research by Legal Week’s sister publication Legal Director has uncovered a lack of consultation and widespread concern among heads of legal over the proposed changes to relax rules governing conflicts.
After a two-year consultation process, the proposals by the City of London Law Society (CLLS) were endorsed by the Law Society’s regulation review working party in February, clearing the way for a final vote.
