Chicago lawyers call for end to ban on LLPs

Chicago Lawyers in Chicago are petitioning their state’s Supreme Court to lift its ban on limited liability partnerships (LLPs) in the wake of the
collapse of energy giant Enron.

The Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association have joined forces to urge the Illinois Supreme Court to relent on its LLP ban branding it an “anachronism” in the current business climate.
