Freshfields to scale down Central Europe

Budapest UK firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is to scale down its presence in Central Europe after a review of its three offices in the region.

The firm has reviewed the future of its Prague, Bratislava and Budapest offices – between them totalling 74 fee earners – amid concerns that the practices do not fit into Freshfields’ strategy of
targeting major jurisdictions and maintaining an equity-only partnership.
