Law Society vote derails fee share reforms

The Law Society’s council today (21 March) blocked ambitious plans to deregulate legal services that could have allowed solicitors to share fees with non lawyers.

In a surprise move, the council voted in favour of allowing employed solicitors to provide any services to the public but has voted down proposals to allow solicitors to share fees or pay for referrals.
