City firm Maxwell Batley has advised British Land on its £53m forward purchase deal of retail and leisure space at the Orbital Shopping Park in Haydon, north Swindon. Partners Nigel Wilson and Raymond Levine led the team for Maxwells. ASDA Wal-Mart, advised by Park Nelson partner Eugene O’Keefe, sold the land.

Herbert Smith and Nabarro Nathanson have teamed up to advise UK real estate company Hammerson on its £183m bid for retail complex The Shires Centre. Property partner Chris de Pury and corporate partner Amanda Howard led for the two firms respectively. Louise Mary of CMS Cameron McKenna partner Graham Palser of Healey & Bakerand Raymond Levine of Maxwell Batleyadvised the target.
