The Solicitors Indemnity Fund (SIF) is closing its Bristol office at the end of the August as the fund looks to scale down its operations following the move to the open market regime for buying cover.

The Bristol-based staff will begin a formal consultation exercise in May. Any staff that can not be found alternative employment either with SIF in London or a unit of Solicitors Professional Indemnity Limited (SPIL), the Law Society’s joint venture with the St Paul International Insurance, will be made redundant.
