James Mullan, director of business and legal affairs at EMI/Parlophone Records has gravely underestimated The Diary by sending a joke in to us with the following proviso. “I suspect it may be rather too crude for your esteemed organ to print,” he says, “but the following joke was told to me by one of our artists.”
