China has to adhere to the minimum standards imposed by various international treaties to which it is a member, including the Berne Convention, Universal Copyright Convention, Paris Convention and the World Trade Organisation’s (WTO) Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights.
