US firm in Chinese link up mystery

beijing A US insurance specialist has baffled its rivals after claiming to have become the first Western firm to merge with a law firm on the Chinese mainland.

Insurance litigation firm Bruno Gerbino & Macchia publicly claimed last week that the firm had pipped international legal giants like Clifford Chance to the post by acquiring top-tier corporate Chinese firm Harden & Wells.
