Top Japan firms merge to form national powerhouse

Two top ten Japanese law firms are set to merge to create the largest independent firm in the region.

Mori Sogo and Hamada & Matsumoto have formed an exclusive alliance prior to their merger, which is expected to come into force from January 2003 under the name of Mori Hamada & Matsumoto.
