Herbert Smith is the only UK firm to have gained a top ten place in the latest worldwide rankings for global M&A for completed deals – thanks to its alliance with leading German firm Gleiss Lutz Hootz Hirsch Rechtsanwalte.
Herbert Smith and Gleiss Lutz, ranked together, completed 71 deals worth £198bn, according to figures released this week from Thomson Financial. The result sees the firm’s beat nearest City rival Linklaters & Alliance, which ranked 15th with a deal value of £129bn, despite completing 207 deals.
