DLA is in merger talks with the human resources consultants MCG Consulting Group as the national firm looks to build up its HR division.
If the merger goes ahead, MCG will become a core part of DLA’s core HR legal and consulting business.
DLA’s HR legal consulting arm was first set up three years ago. The group has since collaborated numerous times with MCG. The move is referred to by DLA as “the next logical step” for the two businesses.
DLA is expected to benefit from MCG’s specialism in benchmarking and structuring executive pay, equal pay benchmarking, auditing, and pay and grading systems.
Head of DLA’s legal and consultancy group David Bradley said: “We will be working hard in the next few months to effect a smooth transition towards a merger of our operations.”
Colin Ions, formerly HR director of Courage, is to lead the integration process alongside MCG partners Derek Burn and Malcolm Stuart.
Ions is also responsible for handling for change management and employee relations for DLA’s HR consultancy business, set up three years ago.
Ions said: “This is a real step forward for both firms.”
