Royal & Sun Alliance: RSA is to hive off its 60-strong in-house claims-handling team to panel firms Badhams Thompson, Davies Wallis Foyster and Lyons Davidson. The lawyers will remain at their desks at RSA’s offices, but will be classed as employees of the new firms. The small in-house team that covers corporate work will remain with RSA. The firm’s UK head of legal David Morgan announced his decision to leave the group.

British Telecom: The 50 legal and regulatory staff, including 11 lawyers, at BT Wireless are breaking off from the rest of the group. The news came with the announcement that the group’s European mobile operation will be demerged by the end of the year. Philip Bramwell, who heads the department, confirmed that the entire team will move with the division.
