Lloyds calls in CC on mega Abbey deal

Clifford Chance (CC) is advising Linklaters & Alliance client LloydsTSB on its merger talks with Abbey National.

Lloyds turned to Clifford Chance because Linklaters faced a conflict. It is believed that Linklaters was instructed by one of the financial advisers to the proposed merger bid between the Bank of Scotland and Abbey National.
