A Westminster firm, which has sworn The Diary to secrecy, is celebrating an interesting client win. The client came to the firm after its advisers refused to let one of its bigwigs smoke in its meeting rooms.
Without further ado, the chain smoker conducted a beauty parade, and chose our less picky Westminster outfit – although even they are not too keen to advertise the fact that they allow smokers into their offices. It is a wonder the client did not choose Macfarlanes, whose senior partner, Robert Sutton, is rarely seen without a Marlboro. But then again, Macfarlanes might just have been too expensive.
