Linklaters & Alliance has been knocked off the top spot for the highest value of UK M&A deals for the first half of the year by Slaughter and May, after Linklaters achieved a £75.7bn increase in
the value of its deals.

In research compiled by Thomson Financial Securities Data, Slaughters had a role in 52 deals valued at £110bn from January to June, £75.7bn more than the value of the 50 deals it announced this time last year. Over the same period last year, Linklaters announced 54 deals for the first half valued at £105bn, which compared with the 48 deals, valued at £42.3bn.
