Law Soc snubs Gilbert

The Law Society has snubbed Paul Gilbert, the former head of legal at United Assurance and ex-chair of the Commerce & Industry group, by deciding not to invite him for an interview following his application for the newly created position of chief executive officer.

Gilbert is understood to have submitted his application for the £120,000 post after he left United Assurance at the beginning of June.
