Slaughter and May acted for Reckitt & Coleman, the household goods and textiles company, on its proposed £4.9bn merger with Dutch household cleaning group Benckiser. The deal will create the largest household cleaning products company in the world. Corporate partner Martin Roberts led the team. Lovell White Durrant acted for life assurance company Aegon UK on its purchase of Guardian Royal Exchange UK’s life pensions and trust businesses for £759m from Sun Life.
