Two U.S. firms, Sidley Austin and Squire Patton Boggs, are leading on the takeover of West Bromwich Albion football club by a Florida-based father-son duo, in the latest example of U.S. firms capitalising on the lucrative U.K. football market.

Bilkul Football, a company owned by Florida-based entrepreneur Shilen Patel and his father Kiran Patel, has acquired an 87.8% shareholding in West Bromwich Albion Group, the parent company of West Bromwich Albion Football Club, for a reported £60 million.
