Brian Mulroney, the former Canadian prime minister and a senior partner at Norton Rose Fulbright Canada, died on Thursday at 84.

Mulroney was remembered by Norton Rose as “a statesman, a visionary, and a humanitarian.” He started his legal career as a labor lawyer at Norton Rose Canada predecessor Howard Cate, Ogilvy, one of Canada’s oldest firms and Montreal’s largest. After leaving government, he rejoined the firm, which was then known as Ogilvy Renault until it merged with Norton Rose in 2011.
