The bar association of Kenya has appealed a decision by the country’s Supreme Court to order a lifetime ban on a senior lawyer because of his public criticisms of the court and its judges in the media.
The Law Society of Kenya, in a petition filed Jan. 25, asked the appellate Nairobi High Court to reverse the ban on Ahmednasir Abdullahi, arguing that it infringes on free speech and access to justice.
