Law firm clients could suffer if the U.K. leaves the European Convention on Human Rights, a former judge and President of the European Court of Human Rights and current Gibson Dunn partner has said at a firm event.

Were the U.K. to exit the Convention, as the government has teased on multiple occasions, Robert Spano said that clients would be affected as the U.K.’s membership of the Convention “is important for the overall economic stability and reputation of the U.K”.
