The guest list for the 70th-anniversary celebration last week honoring the Melbourne law firm Arnold Bloch Leibler was a testament to its influence and would be the envy of a firm several times its size.

The firm has only 43 partners and 150 lawyers, but guests at the shindig were a who’s who of government, politics and corporate Australia. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese; Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus; Premier of the state of Victoria Daniel Andrews; and other members of the federal and state governments were on the list, as were figures associated with opposition parties. Israeli Ambassador to Australia Amir Maimon also attended.
