Kirkland & Ellis has secured its first major mandate for British defense giant BAE Systems, advising the FTSE 100 company on its acquisition of Ball Corporation’s space technology arm for $5.55 billion.

Kirkland fielded a full-service U.S.-based team, led by New York corporate partners Sarkis Jebejian, Edward Lee, Steven Li and associate David Jean-Baptiste, according to the firm.
