One of the biggest generative AI providers won’t likely feel too welcome in Spain. While the country hasn’t issued a full ban on ChatGPT provider OpenAI—unlike Italy—it did open a targeted investigation into the company, leading to a hesitancy among the country’s private sector to use OpenAI solutions.

In fact, Paul Handal, a legal tech partner at Spanish law firm ECIJA, told Law.com’s Legaltech News that questions around the legality of using OpenAI dominate many of his conversations with clients.
