Baker McKenzie, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Allen & Overy provided pro bono advice to defeat the U.K. government in the Court of Appeal as it ruled that the policy to send asylum seekers to Rwanda is unlawful.

The controversial immigration policy, first announced by former PM Boris Johnson back in April 2022 as part of a £120m deal agreed with the Rwandan government, proposed that illegal immigrants or asylum seekers will be relocated to Rwanda for claim processing, asylum and resettlement.
