U.S. litigation firm Kobre & Kim, together with Three Crowns and Korean disputes firm KL Partners, secured Florida-based investment manager Elliott Associates a $108 million award in an international arbitration against the Republic of Korea over a dispute arising from a 2015 merger of two Samsung affiliates. 

Elliott filed an arbitration case against the South Korean government in 2018 over its alleged unlawful intervention in the 2015 merger between Samsung C&T and Cheil Industries, both affiliates of Samsung Group.
