My journey into law has not been easy. I was diagnosed with autism and mild speech and language difficulties as a toddler, which has affected most aspects of my life—including my career.

I grew up in a low-income environment with my sister, my mum and I grappling with homelessness after we were evicted when I was 13. We lived at different locations, staying with mum’s friends or at B&Bs, having no fixed address during my adolescence. My mum struggled financially, mentally and emotionally to raise us following her split from my dad after surviving domestic abuse and violence.
