On Wednesday, the U.K. legal market was rocked by the news that the Ince Group had fallen into administration—an extremely rare case of a top 50 law firm failure.

After six consecutive delays to its still-unpublished audited accounts for 2021-22, the message to the market became clearer: the 150-year old law firm was likely reaching its end. Despite the sense of inevitability, concern has now turned to the people still at the firm, who many say could soon find themselves out of pocket.
