Allen & Overy and Linklaters are advising on Japanese utility giant JERA’s $1.7 billion acquisition of Parkwind, Belgium’s largest offshore wind platform, from Virya Energy. 

JERA, a joint venture between Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings and Chubu Electric Power, announced the acquisition on March 22. The Tokyo-based power generation company is seeking to grow its renewables business globally, particularly in offshore wind, through the buyout, it said in a statement.
