A £5 billion U.K. collective action against Sony PlayStation is forecast to generate legal fees of almost £20 million for the claimant-side lawyers, according to filings that offer an insight into how lucrative such work can be for the lawyers involved.

The £19.7 million forecasted budget includes allocations to law firm Milberg London, an affiliate of U.S. litigation firm Milberg Phillips Grossman, which is advising the claimant. It also includes budgeted amounts for barristers Robert Palmer QC and Fiona Banks of Monckton Chambers, and a group of experts comprising a competition economist, market analysis and technology.
