The value of U.K. competition-related group actions soared by 550% last year, according to research from Thomson Reuters highlighting the rapid advancement of such cases.

Eight class action cases worth £26 billion were filed with the Competition Appeal Tribunal during 2022, compared with six worth £4 billion in 2021, with technology companies often the target. Ten of the 14 claims over the last two years have been in the tech sector.
