Global law firms in Japan have been benefiting from Japanese conglomerates’ increased need for due diligence on overseas investments and operations as antitrust regulations and data privacy scrutiny increase across the globe. 

Japanese companies have been feeling the effects of the continued tightening of antitrust and data privacy laws, not only in the U.S. but also in the EU and other key regional economies such as Singapore and Australia. They also have needed help navigating international restrictions caused by the COVID pandemic and sanctions resulting from the Russia-Ukraine war, lawyers say.
