A High Court of England and Wales judge has criticised Baker McKenzie’s fees as “disproportionate” and called for a reduction in the estimated bill for its client, Daily Mail publisher Associated Newspapers.

Deputy High Court Judge Roger Ter Haar KC said following a Costs and Case Management Conference in October 2022 that that Associated Newspapers’ estimated legal costs of £3.18 million “should be reduced by about 15%”.
