Slaughter and May has introduced a new ‘working practices code’ to address what firm senior partner Steve Cooke has described as “unnecessary incursions” some of its people have experienced during non-working periods.

As part of a new suite of workplace measures, the firm has also increased salaries for its fee earners. Pay for newly qualified salary will be raised from £107,500 to £115,000 from May 2022, while pay at all PQE levels will also increase to address “the compression within PQE levels”, according to a firm statement.
