Heavyweight African firms Bowmans and Webber Wentzel are advising on a joint venture between mining multinational Anglo American and French electricity utility EDF Renewables to form a new company, Envusa Energy.

Anglo American said in a statement that Envusa Energy will launch a pipeline of more than 600 MW of wind and solar projects in South Africa—a major first step towards the development of an ecosystem that is expected to generate 3-5 GW of renewable energy by 2030.
