As the U.S. Supreme Court has handed down its opinion overturning the 1973 landmark ruling of Roe v. Wade, abortion rights in the United States will be reduced to a patchwork of differing state legislations.

“There will be so much confusion,” Sonia Suter, professor at George Washington University Law School said. She also is the founding director of the Health Law Initiative and foresees “nightmare scenarios” for women seeking to end a pregnancy as well as for abortion providers.
