Last week, Davis Polk & Wardwell’s Asia head, Martin Rogers, announced on his LinkedIn profile that he will be speaking at an event that commemorates the second anniversary of the National Security Law in Hong Kong. To be specific, Rogers said that he was “honored to be invited to speak at the upcoming National Security Law Legal Forum,” an occasion organized by Hong Kong’s Department of Justice, led by Secretary of Justice Teresa Cheng, a former senior counsel at Des Voeux Chambers.

So, I think it’s time to talk about the treacherous path that connects law and politics. It’s a subject that has once again taken center stage in the legal realm over the past few days.
