This month, Tim Haney took over as CEO of Dentons Canada. Law.com International caught up with him as he prepared to start his five-year term leading the 600 lawyers who work in the firm’s six Canadian offices—in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.

Haney was formerly the managing partner of the firm’s energy-centric Calgary office, a role the firm just announced would now be filled by corporate law partner George Tai. Haney has been at Dentons Canada for 11 years, specializing in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and private equity.
