Kirkland & Ellis is the latest firm staking a bet on growing demand for environmental, social and governance work, hiring a leader of Latham & Watkins’ ESG task force as a partner in Chicago.

Sara Orr had been with Latham since 2005, where she was a founding member of an informal sustainability committee that ultimately evolved into the cross-disciplinary task force. She advises financial institutions, private equity firms and corporate clients on a range of ESG issues, particularly those connected to energy and other extractive industries.
