U.K. firm Slaughter and May is advising on a deal that could see Africa acquire up to 400 million doses of a new COVID-19 vaccine.

The firm is leading on the establishment of the African Vaccine Acquisition Trust (AVAT), which according to a new agreement will purchase up to 400 million single-shot COVID-19 vaccine doses from U.S. pharma major Johnson & Johnson. The doses will serve the African Union (AU).
