White & Case has changed the distributions pay-out process for departing equity partners across its global offices in a move that is expected to result in fewer people leaving part way through the year.

The firm will no longer pay out distributions to equity partners who leave the firm before the end of its financial year in December, which brings it into line with several other top U.S. law firms, according to several people with knowledge of the situation.
